Feature Maps
Our feature survey maps can also include contours and show accurate information on position and size of a jetty or a building footprint including the carpark and the kerb and channel, drainage points complete with invert levels etc.
Our Feature survey can include cross sections and long sections of say an existing wharf or a groyne of the rock beaching of the bank of a river. These details are presented graphically with some vertical exaggeration to highlight the angles involved.

Methods
We provide a mapping service for the measurement of land in 3 dimensions using Australians map grid and height datum and can be joined to other map or data sets to complete a map starting on land going underwater and back up the other side if required.
For land mapping we have a variety of measuring tools available.
Real Time Kinermatic Global Positioning System (RTK GPS)
Provides measurements to an accuracy of +/- 20mm in 3 dimensions. This system is used primarily for high accuracy data collection for contours generation or feature maps that will be later used for construction of subdivisions etc. It's a complex system to use and does have some down time due to satellite or radio conflicts.
Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS)
Provides measurements to an accuracy of +/- 1m horizontally. This system is used for horizontal positions for hydrographic survey and Geographical Information System (GIS) data collection or feature survey. The differential service is received via radio or from a separate satellite. It's a relative easy system to use provide there is a clear view to the sky.
Navigation Global Positioning System (GPS)
Provides measurements to an accuracy of +/- 10m horizontally. This system is the backbone of the satellite navigation system sold in expensive cars. It can get you back to your car if you go for a walk in the bush or a big city. Just look at the screen and it will give you direction and distance back to a known point. This is the easiest system to use just turn it on outside and you get a position.
Refectories Laser Measurement Devices
Provide rapid measurement of, position height and size of fixed objects under trees. It has an accuracy of about 2m in any bearing and 0.1m in distance. It can also calculate the height of a tree or power pole by measuring the slope angle as well.
